Korean kimchi is loved all around the world for its irresistible fizz, tang and spice. But have you ever thought to make it yourself at home?! Turning an unassuming cabbage into a fermented flavour fest is easier than you might think, and the uses for cooking with kimchi at home are endless.
In this 2.5 hour hands-on workshop, you will learn how to make two tried and tested My Grandma Ben kimchi recipes. First up, our take on the classic - a simplified method using red miso instead of fish sauce, making this delicious fermented condiment both vegetarian and vegan friendly. We will also make a Nabak kimchi - a lighter, water based style of kimchi that is mild and refreshing.
You'll learn all about the fermentation process and leave armed with the knowledge needed to look after your jars of kimchi when you get home.
Perfect for: absolutely anyone! Suitable for beginner fermenters and those with some prior knowledge who want to learn a bit more about kimchi. The perfect date night or fun night out with friends.
